That is how many spam messages since a few days ago. This is getting ridiculous. Okay, more ridiculous than before. I even started using that Akismet plugin. This is giving me a headache. I am not popular…so I cannot figure out why this is happening. About a month ago I added tags in my coding so people could find my site easier when they googled and whatnot…and I think that may be the problem. I may have to remove those tags. I’m going to remove them tonight after I clear the spam and I will see how many spam message I clock from tonight to tomorrow afternoon. If they go down substantially, I will blame it on the tags. Sadly I don’t have much more to say tonight. I have a splitting headache and huge paper due Thursday. If I get the paper done fairly early tomorrow I will make a more…informative blog post. As for right now…just checking in.

Did you just activate Askimet, or did you activate it and enter an API key? If you don’t enter a key then it won’t catch spam messages.
I have Askimet and I never see any spam on my site. It catches everything and every once in a while (read: when I remember) I go in and delete it all.
I did enter the API key. Logged in and have just under 200 spam comments. Even after taking the tags out.

I hope that they go away soon. Or at least they get less. I hate having to go through a bunch of spam comments.
